Friday, September 13, 2024: Stewardship Roundtable: Drones

The Northern California Regional Land Trust final Stewardship Roundtable summer series is Drones. We will gather at Secret Trail Brewing Company to discuss and learn about drone technology. This FREE event is open to all. NCRLT staff will present on the the important role drones can play during monitoring season at the Land Trust. The goal for this event is to convene land trust stewards with or without conservation easement to learn about the work and tech our stewardship staff use during monitoring season, and how it makes our monitoring more efficient. Saturday, October 12, 2024: Harvest Dinner & Celebration of Conserved Lands

Northern California Regional Land Trust is thrilled to announce our annual Harvest Dinner on October 12th at a local Ranch not open to the general public. This highly anticipated event will showcase the best of our service region's local products, offering a tantalizing, farm-to-fork feast to delight the taste buds of attendees. As guests mingle and enjoy cocktails made from locally-produced Almendra spirits, they will be serenaded by live music and strolls in the oak glade. The highlight of the night is undoubtedly the live auction, where guests will have the opportunity to bid on experiences and unique opportunities to connect with the land. From guided ecotours on private ranches, to exclusive locally-created art pieces, this auction promises to create unforgettable memories while supporting the Land Trust's conservation efforts. All donations are tax-deductible. The evening will conclude with the land celebration and rally, along with dancing in the barn, or night-sky walks in the moonlight.

The return of the Harvest Dinner is a celebration of community, locally-produced delights, and the innate connection between humans and the land. Our venue for 2024 is centrally located between Chico, Oroville, Paradise, and Durham on a ranch set in the Butte County foothills. Sponsorship opportunities are available NOW, starting at $100. Thursday-Sunday , January 23-26, 2025: Snow Goose Festival of the Pacific Flyway

The Pacific Flyway is the migratory pathway for millions of birds, across hundreds of species and it’s practically in our backyard! The Snow Goose Festival of the Pacific Flyway celebrates this magnificent spectacle of nature by offering 4 days of fields trips, workshops, and many other events. The Northern California Regional Land Trust is excited to be a sponsor and exhibitor for this festival. NCRLT will be at the Patrick Ranch Museum from 9am-4pm on Saturday, January 27th and Sunday, January 28th for the FREE exhibitor and family event, so please stop by to chat and learn more about our organization. January 2025 - Stewardship Summit: Learning from the Land

Northern California Regional Land Trust is convening our inaugural Stewardship Summit for peer-to-peer learning from the land. Invited land managers will share stories from properties in our service area of Butte, Glenn, Tehama, Plumas, and Shasta Counties.

Saturday, August 24, 2024: Family Day on the Ranch - Hamilton Ranch * SOLD OUT*

The Northern California Regional Land Trust is excited to welcome the public to one of our newest conservation easements in Vina, California. Our hosts are the current stewards of this property. They are in their fourth generation of ranching this land. Come enjoy this FREE fun filled day during calving season. Bring your family and see if you have the skills to work on a ranch! Friday, August 9, 2024: Stewardship Roundtable: Remote Monitoring

The Northern California Regional Land Trust next Stewardship Roundtable summer series is Remote Monitoring. We will gather at Secret Trail Brewing Company to discuss and learn about remote monitoring technology. This FREE event is open to all. NCRLT staff will present on the the important role remote monitoring plays during monitoring season at the Land Trust. The goal for this event is to convene land trust stewards with or without conservation easement to learn about the work and tech our stewardship staff use during monitoring season, and how it makes our monitoring more efficient.

CANCELLED DUE TO PARK FIRE: Sunday, July 28, 2024: Take a Hike - Salmon in the Sierra

The Northern California Regional Land Trust is excited to welcome the public to the Deer Creek Preserve to learn about the salmon populations in this tributary to the Sacramento River as part of the Take a Hike event series. This hike will wind into the interior of the Preserve to the fish ladder before returning along the same route, offering participants the opportunity to expand their understanding of the lifecycle of migratory fish in Sierran watersheds, and to learn about other species that call Deer Creek home.

Friday, July 12, 2024: Stewardship Roundtable: Rangeland Soil Health

The Northern California Regional Land Trust is excited to announce the first of our summer series Stewardship Roundtable: Rangeland Soil Health. We will gather at Secret Trail Brewing Company to discuss and learn about the healthy soil practices. This FREE event is open to all. We will converse about case studies and region-specific aspects of applying such techniques. NCRLT staff will also present on funding assistance for implementing new soil health practices on your land. The goal for this event is to convene land trust stewards with or without conservation easement to learn about and share their knowledge of, rangeland soils health. Bring stories and lessons from your land!

Sunday, June 9, 2024: Take a Hike - Birds of the Sierra

The Northern California Regional Land Trust is excited to welcome the public to the Deer Creek Preserve for a morning of bird watching as part of the Take a Hike event series. Led by local birder and retired CSU biology instructor, Shelly Kirn, this hike will wind into the interior of the Preserve toward the fish ladder before returning along the same route, offering participants the opportunity to hone their bird identification skills as well as beautiful canyon views. Sunday, May 5, 2024: Take a Hike - Flora of the Sierra

In partnership with the Mt. Lassen Chapter of the California Native Plant Society, the Northern California Regional Land Trust is excited to welcome the public to the Deer Creek Preserve to see wildflowers in bloom, as part of the Take a Hike event series. This hike will wind into the interior of the Preserve toward the fish ladder before returning along the same route, offering participants the opportunity to hone their plant identification skills and enjoy beautiful canyon views. Sunday, April 21, 2024: Take a Hike - Spring in the Sierra: Phenology II

The Northern California Regional Land Trust welcomed the public to the Deer Creek Preserve for the spring bloom as part of the Take a Hike event series. Led by the Land Trust staff and board of directors, this hike wound into the interior of the Preserve toward the fish ladder before returning along the same route, offering participants the opportunity to revisit paths less traveled, and to enjoy beautiful canyon views. This was a FREE event and registration was required. Thank you to our 12 participants for joining us!

Sunday, April 7, 2024: Take a Hike - Spring in the Sierra: Phenology I

The Northern California Regional Land Trust partnered with a local Boy Scout troupe to explore Eagle Scout projects along the Deer Creek trail, benefitting the preserve and the public as part of the Take a Hike event series. Led by the Land Trust staff and troupe leaders, the work crew hiked into the fish ladder for lunch and noted downed limbs and other potential hazards on the trail before returning along the same route. Each enjoyed beautiful canyon views and learned about the watershed.

Saturday, October 14, 2023: The Harvest Dinner and Benefit for Northern California Land Trust

Northern California Regional Land Trust is thrilled to announce the long-awaited return of the Harvest Dinner on October 14 at Llano Seco Ranch. This highly anticipated event will showcase the best of our service region's local products, offering a tantalizing, farm-to-fork feast to delight the taste buds of attendees. As guests mingle and enjoy wine tasting with La Rocca Vineyards, they will be serenaded by homegrown live music by Oroville’s Strung Nugget Band. Games and conversation among attendees in the tree-filled meadow is the main attraction. But, the highlight of the night is undoubtedly the land celebration and rally, along with the live auction, where guests will have the opportunity to bid on experiences and unique opportunities to connect with the land. From guided ecotours on a private ranch to exclusive farm-to-table dinners, this auction promises to create unforgettable memories while supporting the Land Trust's conservation efforts. All donations are tax-deductible.
